Like I Saw On Tiktok

A short explination.

For many years, I focused on drawing crazy or grotesque caricatures of people and while it was fun and educational, it was also frequently met with indifference by my guest; or even worse, anger. I, of course had guests that also loved and appreciated the work and it felt so good when that would happen. Over the past few years, my style has shifted and it's far more cartoony and while I think my style is quite fun and zany, there have been less wild exagerrations.

Let me say this. My art is MY art and I don't live to make every single person happy. Nor do I take too seriously any "requests" people might have about drawing certain features. I do, however, like that my art illicits laughter and that's what I want to put out into the world. Also, doing those more grotesque caricatures took time and some planning and I didn't want to spend that one someone who also wasn't going to appreciate it.

So, I started developing a really cartoony style that was silly but also held a likeness. And I love my style. I love that it brings so many people laughs. But we also are hearing so many of you being exposed to this art through Tiktok. We are following these artists, too. It's a small world and we love that their art is getting to so many people.

In Comes Tiktok

Tiktok has, as it has been for many things, been a superb vehicle for bringing things to the forefront. Caricature has been one of those unexpected things and I couldn't be more happy about that. I am so excited that the art of caricature is being appreciated by so many. I love drawing cute caricatures that make people happy, but if you're into getting roasted, just LET US KNOW. We want to draw the crazy face for you. We want to show you our art.

Just know that we don't draw exactly like your favorite Tiktok artist. We all have our individual voices and styles. We don't all even draw zany exagerrations. That's one of the things that makes this artform so beautiful. So, come down to the stand and let us know you want us to "do your worst" or "roast you" or even "make it ugly" and we'll give you our best.
